Job Summary
The Imaging clerk is responsible for completion of clerical duties, facilitates office workflow and assists the customers/ physicians of the Imaging department. The Operational Service Lead will act as liaison for the Clerk position and assist with overseeing the role within the Radiology Department.
Essential Job Functions
Greets and assists all customers as needed.
Provides direction to customers when needed.
Answers the telephone using proper telephone etiquette.
Assists with distribution of patient preps, and screenings.
Places courtesy calls to patients when needed.
Prepares all correspondence for physician offices and other institutions as needed.
Prepares and obtains necessary release forms.
Burns CD's and DVD’s.
Faxes reports to physician offices.
Monitors imaging picture archive communication system to facilitate department workflow as needed.
Assists physicians and other staff with HIS/RIS/PACS systems
Facilitates internal communication with various departments as needed.
Delivers and retrieves requests from technologist/radiologist office/reading room/work area.
Delivers imaging department mail.
Directs phone calls to appropriate location.
Maintains work station in optimum condition.
Assure adequate office supplies are maintained.
Reports any necessary malfunctions to supervisor.
Implements downtime procedure when necessary.
Assists in rescheduling of patients during equipment downtime.
Initiates established downtime procedures during HIS/RIS and PACS downtime.
Receives and prepares outside mammography CD/DVD’s for interpretation by radiologist.
Receives and digitizes imports DVD’s and films from all facilities
Maintains critical results/ call reports work list in PAC’s system
Contacts order physician with results
Proper documentation and trail
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, or Higher Level of Education.
Knowledge of basic Office Equipment and working knowledge of computers
Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
Travel may be expected locally between Excela Health locations.
