The Imaging Assistant supports the Radiologists, APPs, nurses, and technologists in the delivery of safe patient care and daily operations within Outpatient Imaging services as advised. This role assists providers/APPs with patient examinations, treatment and/procedures seen in the Interventional Radiology Clinic. The person in this role acquires vital signs, height/weight and records patient’s medical history and records other relevant data in the EMR.

  Imaging Assistant Overview

  Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  Schedules and coordinates patient appointments for provider visits, patient admissions and/or special procedure(s)

  Delivers patient care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN to assigned patient population, or individual patient

  Communicates optimally with patients and other members of the healthcare team

  Maintains exams/procedure rooms and supplies

  Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served

  Minimum Qualifications:

  BLS certification. Basic medical terminology. Pervious Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), Nursing Assistant (NA) or Nursing Station Technician (NST) experience or some radiology training in healthcare

  One year of patient care experience in a fast, pace outpatient clinic or hospital/medical procedure setting

  Good keyboarding, phone and computer software utilization skills

  Prior experience using medical terminology

  Excellent customer service, public and patient relation, and interpersonal skills, such as clear speech and writing

  Ability to prioritize work and fluctuation in workload

  Location: 909 Fulton St SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455

  Hours: 0.5 FTE

  Note: Shift hours are 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday, with an additional weekday/evening shift.
