Lewis County is currently seeking a full time HVAC Systems Technician. The work involves responsibility for the maintenance and operation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment at county or Hospitalfacilities. The starting salary is $24.81/hr. with excellent benefits and NYS retirement.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college, university or technical school or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an associates degree or higher in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology or closely related field and three (3) years of experience operating and maintaining complex facility HVAC systems and auxiliary equipment and controls; orB) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of experience as defined in (A); orC) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid New York State Drivers License appropriate to the vehicles operated.Civil Service Exam required for permanent appointment.
