DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an HVAC Refrigeration Technician, your duties will primarily involve making mechanical repairs and performing preventative maintenance to the refrigeration, heating and air conditioning equipment, air handling equipment and other related equipment located at Fort Indiantown Gap. You will install new units and component parts, and make adjustments or repairs to various types of HVAC Systems. Additionally, you will monitor and evaluate the systems' performance to determine if they are not functioning properly, and prepare estimates and requisitions for repair or replacement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per weekWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician trainee program (commonwealth title); orThree years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, units, and equipment including one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls.Necessary Special Requirement:All employees must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.You must be in possession of a valid PA noncommercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.Additional Requirements:You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Qualifications (not required):Ability to work in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.Completion of formal training in a Refrigeration/HVAC or Temperature Control Technician trade.Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification.Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification.Experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of refrigeration and HVAC systems, units, and equipment.Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and/or wiring diagrams/schematics.Experience making adjustments, as well as minor and major repairs, to the heating systems (steam, hot water, and gas) and refrigeration and freezer units (reach-in and walk-in).Experience installing refrigeration or HVAC systems, units, equipment, and peripheral devices.Experience performing preventative maintenance on all related equipment above.Experience responding to emergencies by going onsite and troubleshooting problems.Experience making adjustments online or in-person if necessary to maintain comfortable conditions.Experience conducting building inspections to ensure adequate heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, and circulation in buildings.Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
