Data Protection Services Backup Engineer Essential Responsibilities

　　· Oversee, administrate, and maintain Backup infrastructure, application, and hardware, across all Starbucks Data Centers, Roasting Plants, and Remote Offices.

　　· Maintain Backup environment at optimal level of operation, performance, and reliability.

　　· Perform general systems management activities including but not limited to installation, configuration, and maintenance of Backup applications, storage devices, and servers.

　　· Assist different Starbucks database and application teams promptly and efficiently with their Backup and Restore needs as well as troubleshooting backup technical issues as they arise.

　　· Collaborate and coordinate with Data Protection Services team members with planning, developing, and executing backup projects and daily operational activities.

　　· Collaborate with Data Protection Services team members to research, identify, and recommend new Backup technologies and system processes.

　　· Provide Backups technical support and participate in the on-call rotation on a 7/24 operational production environment.

　　· Monitor and implement security patches when needed and work closely with Starbucks cyber security team to address software and hardware security risks and any potential vulnerabilities in the backup environment.

　　· Assist offshore Backup Operation teams with daily operation activities and escalations providing technical guidance when requested.

　　· Assist Data Protection Services team members documenting technical procedures, processes, and issues periodically.

　　· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to address complex technical issues on a timely basis.

　　· Able to multitask and prioritize tasks and projects on a large scale and fast paced technical environment.

　　Qualifications

　　· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

　　· 5+ years’ experience in technical roles and managing Storage and Backup devices.

　　· Knowledge and experience working with Veritas NetBackup Backup application, installation, administration, and maintenance.

　　· Knowledge and experience working with Veritas appliances and tape libraries.

　　· Knowledge and experience with LINUX and Windows Operating Systems.

　　· Knowledge and experience troubleshooting network environments.

　　· Knowledge and experience working, troubleshooting, and implementing Backups devices on SAN Fiber Channel environments.

　　· Experience working on NAS NetApp Filers and NDMP backup configuration.

　　· Experience with VMware backups, VMware environment, vCenter/vSphere.

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　· Experience with Linux Scripting.

　　· Knowledge and experience with Python, Mongo DB, REST APIs.

　　· Experience with Microsoft Azure.

　　· Experience with Backup devices on Cloud environments.
