Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) and Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) are seeking a Human Resources Generalist for our Corporate office in Abingdon, Maryland. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime may be required.
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will use your expertise to assist the Director of Human Resources in a variety of areas, including but not limited to:
New Employee Orientation
Disability Claims
Family Medical Leave Act processing
Worker's Compensation Claims
401(k) employee education
Unemployment Claims
Employee Immigration
Conducting Exit Interviews
Communicate with other HR staff and various departments relating to Employee status changes
Execute wellness initiatives in collaboration with other HR staff
Involvement with evaluating and implementing additional payroll vendor functions
Collaborate with HR and Accounting staff to resolve payroll data/system issues
Utilize various websites / programs for HR functions, Accounting, Payroll, Benefits and Recruiting
Assist in creating HR employee information documents
Obtain, verify, and enter professional licenses, certifications, education, etc. in HR system
Assist Recruiting Staff
Career Fairs – registration, maintain schedule for use of supplies, coordinate delivery and return of supplies from other offices, replenish printed materials as needed, advise recruiting staff on branded product supply levels
Post and maintain job postings on College and Professional Society Job Boards, verify active posting status with recruiting staff
Assist Director of Human Resources in scheduling and preparation of educational meetings
Cross train with HR Specialist
Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business or similar field , HR focus preferred
3-5 years well rounded HR experience
Motivated and collaborative personality
Excellent time management skills; accustomed to meeting tight deadlines
Intermediate Word, Excel, Outlook; Basic Adobe
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to quickly learn computer applications
Keen understanding of the nature of confidentiality in Human Resources
