Summary
The HR Generalist will assist in the day-to-day management and administrative tasks of talent acquisition, training and development, performance and talent management, safety and employee relations.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Leads recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions.
Working with HR Manager to recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Lead onboarding activities and working to enhance processes to ensure a positive and informative introductory experience.
Assist with coordinating employee social and wellness activities.
Assist with deploying policies and practices that ensure an engaging, inclusive, rewarding and safe workplace experience.
Providing support for various human resource functions, including benefits administration, and payroll/timekeeping processes.
Attend and participate in employee investigations, disciplinary matters/meetings, and terminations.
Provides backup support for HR Specialist
Assist reception team – receive calls and welcome guests
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of professional HR experience
Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.
Fantastic organization skills
Able to work both independently and as a member of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience in a position requiring a high degree of confidentiality.
Prior experience dealing with the general public: demonstrated sensitivity; ability to listen and deal warmly and empathetically with a wide range of people.
Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication.
Strong command of the English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
This is an on-site position at our HQ in Plymouth, MI.
