Job Summary
Coordinates the daily production activities of the shipping department. Receives and issues monthly production schedule to appropriate personnel. Maintains quality and shipping levels as required. Reports quality and/or production problems to the department supervisor. Performs monthly inventory functions. Operates various machine within department. May operate forklift. May perform other duties as assigned by production supervisors.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Receives basic monthly production schedule from production supervisor, with daily updates for rush (overtime) orders.
Assures supplies and materials, as needed, are available for entire shift.
Issues written and verbal orders to various machine operators on a daily basis.
Assures orders are completed in a timely manner to produce a continuous flow of product.
Performs physical count of all material and work-in-process for monthly inventory.
Assures finished product is manufactured in accordance with order specifications.
Lists completed order information in the logbook.
Places identifying tags on materials.
Operates forklift to move material within department or for interdepartmental transferring of product.
Maintains a clean work area.

Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers while working closely with the operations supervisor.
Ability to remain organized.
Basic understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used in the department.
Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and regulations.
Education
High school diploma or GED, preferred.
Work Experience
2 years' experience in a shipping department.
1 year experience in a leadership role .
2 years of forklift experience .
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
Ability to work in cold, hot and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
Must wear gloves and ear protection.
Occasional work outside in the elements.
Must be able to become forklift certified.
