Basic Commerce and Industries, Inc. (BCI) is searching for candidates for projected human factors engineering (HFE) positions, which are anticipated to be available in the 3rd quarter of 2013. Although these positions are expected to be for mid-career (3-7 years experience) and experienced (more than 7 years experience) individuals, entry level candidates are also encouraged to apply.

　　The projected positions may be in Dahlgren, VA or in the Lawton, OK area. The primary focus for these positions will be providing HFE and Human Systems Integration support for the development of wearable, vehicle-mounted, and operations center communications equipment. Duties will include: conducting functional and task analyses on the current system, iterative development of distinct user interfaces to support different user profiles, planning and executing human-related system tests, conducting end-user evaluations, collaborating with the program's software development team to create rapid prototypes and generate user interface design requirements and specifications, and assisting with the development of system training.

　　The ideal candidate will have an engineering background and possess a Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Applied Psychology, or a related field and possess solid knowledge or experience in systems engineering. Experience with military field communications or command and control systems is desired. Candidates should have strong communication skills, be capable of taking the initiative in identifying and solving problems, and be able to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
