With 22,000 clients, including 93% of the Fortune 100, and 32,000 employees across 28 countries, RRD brings the expertise, execution, and scale designed to transform customer touchpoints into meaningful moments of impact.Job DescriptionThe Assistant Press Operator will assists Press Operators with press make ready, operating, and maintaining sheet-fed or web offset printing press.This includes:Inserting packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up plate to printing height, fastening reinforcing bars to offset blankets, and installing plates and blankets on press cylinders, using hand tools and power tools, to achieve pressure required for printingAdjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand toolsAssist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand toolsWash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on pressAssist Press Operator by making necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the workQualificationsAbility to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfullySkill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired productAbility to use micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctlyAbility tomake adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast, front and side guides and the timing of the head stops)Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment under guidance of senior level Press OperatorsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredRequires minimum 2 years general knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materialsAdditional InformationThe pay range for this role at the noted location is $16.00 to $23.00 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include a sign-on bonus, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
