Plan and coordinate project work to ensure that proper quality standards are maintained. Complete project work as assigned. * Ensure that staff receives proper orientation, initial training, and on-going education. * Ensure proper supply controls are followed and staff is trained in use of all chemical and equipment. * Acts as Supervisor in the absence of direct supervision or when directed by housekeeping management. * Provide input on performance appraisals, hiring and termination of employees when necessary. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Observes and supervises floor care projects of Housekeeping employees assigned to a project. SPECIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: * Grade school education required. High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Housekeeping Project work preferred. Skills/Abilities: * Must be able to demonstrate proper use of operating all housekeeping equipment and cleaning chemicals. * Must be able to deal comfortably with a wide range of people, i.e., physicians, nurses, other housekeepers, visitors and patients. * Ability to apply common sense decision-making to decide on the most appropriate time or type of task needed to perform any of * the assigned cleaning tasks. * To carry out both oral and written instruction and solve problems.
