Description

A Hospital located in the San Fernando Valley is looking to add a Hospital Medical Collections Specialist to the team. The Hospital Medical Collections Specialist will be responsible for overseeing billing and collection processes within a hospital setting. The Hospital Medical Collections Specialist will also be responsible for managing Medicare managed care, commercial, PPO/HMO and Medical managed care.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct hospital billing and collection processes with accuracy and efficiency

• Handle Medicare managed care, commercial, PPO/HMO, and Medical managed care

• Provide training for Collector I positions

• Appeals and denials management.

• Engage in Appeals, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, and Collection Processes as part of the role

• Oversee the management of insurance correspondence and maintain accurate records

• Monitor patient accounts and take appropriate action to collect insurance payments.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Medical Collections Specialist role or similar

• Proficiency in using EHR SYSTEM, Meditek

• Demonstrated expertise in appeals, billing functions, claim administration, collection processes, and collector roles

• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
