Horse Groom - 5 fulltime, temporary, seasonal (H-2B) jobs available 04/01/2024 - 11/25/2024

　　Employer: Trade Winds Farm (TAC LLC), 394 Riverview Road, Rexford, NY 12148.

　　Duties: The worker will be responsible for and assist with the daily care of horse and preparation of horses for training and participation in horse shows. Travel to competitions to help prepare horses for show rings. Feed and water horses, clean, tack, bathe, brush, and clip horses, apply horse boots and prepare horses to be saddled for shows. Clean horses feet, apply/remove leg wraps/boots and saddle for training. Bath/cool down horse after training/showing. Assist veterinarian while performing physical exams, by keeping the horse calm and under control. Assist the farriers as they inspect, remove, apply, adjust, and work with horse's hoof and shoes by keeping the horse calm and under control. Assist farriers as they inspect, remove, apply, adjust, and work with horse's hoof and shoes. Clean/re-bed stalls. Hose down horse with cold/warm water. Wrap horse in brace or poultice bandages as necessary. Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.

　　Employer to provide daily transportation to and from work sites in Saratoga, Ulster, and Essex counties from designated pick up location: 394 Riverview Road, Rexford, NY 12148.

　　Work hours: Mon-Sat, Split Shift 7am-12pm & 2:30pm-5:30pm, 48 hours/week total. $17.75/hour and OT at $26.63/hour. Bonuses/raises may be paid at employer discretion based on performance, skill, and tenure.

　　No education required, 3 months experience required. Post hire drug testing may be required of all workers at employer expense.

　　A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Friday. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made.

　　Employer will assist worker with securing housing, but employer will not provide housing.

　　Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Employer will assist workers with securing housing, but employer will not provide housing.

　　H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).

　　Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $15.46/day without receipts or up to $59.00/day with receipts.
