This position is an entry-level position that assists the operatorsengaged in processing materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assists operators at the coil loading and packaging ends of the lineand as needed.
* Builds pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools.
* Band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets, placingtags/labels on finished products.
* Perform quality check to verify proper lengths, widths, and weightsare adhered to using the proper tools.
* Detects and reports faulty operations or defective materials.
* Moves or carries parts, equipment, or materials.
* Read and understand production orders.
* Wraps and unwraps materials.
* Housekeeping of work areas.
* Operates a sit-down forklift.
* Achieves production goals while complying to all safety requirements.
* Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
* Ruler, measuring tape, calipers, forklift (training provided), handtools, power tools.
Working Conditions:
* Production facility where the ambient temperature may fluctuate, andthe noise levels may be increased.
* Hours Worked: 40 hours per week; 1st Shift
* Days/Week: Monday - Friday
* Flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours whenrequired.
Travel Requirement:
* No travel required.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used:
* Personal Protective Equipment is regularly required for this positionwhich includes steel or composite toe boots, safety glasses,cut-resistant gloves and arm guards, and hearing protection.
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
* Must be 18 years or older.
* Ability to safely operate a forklift. Training and certificationprovided regardless of previous experience.
* Ability to read documents and interpret facts and draw conclusions.
* Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing.
* Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
