This position is a full time (12 months/year) position and is based atthe Metropolis Head Start in Metropolis, Illinois. It does come with abenefit package (including vacation, personal, and sick time accrual,holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteriaplan). This position assists the Site Supervisor with the dailyoperation and monitoring of the center (s) and provides case managementactivities to families enrolled in the Head Start program.
Qualifications: At a minimum an Associate Degree in a Early ChildhoodEducation or approved related field with at least 21 hours in EarlyChildhood (DCFS Director Qualified); Prefer candidate to have experiencein a Head Start or early childhood setting and previous supervisoryexperience.
Job Duties:
Assists the Site Supervisor in coordination and scheduling to ensureclassroom ratios and site coverage based upon regulations and fills infor positions as needed.
Reviews and tracks required paperwork.
Assists with orientation and onboarding of new employees.
Assists education staff in the classrooms as needed and provides supportas needed.
Provides input on staff performance evaluations and goal setting.
Monitors inventory of site materials, supplies, and equipment.
Assists families in goal setting including a Family PartnershipAgreement.
Assists families with obtaining health records and any needed follow uptreatment.
Completes home visits with families.
Documents case notes and services into a program data base.
Maintains knowledge of community and area resources and refers familiesfor any needed services.
Organizes recruitment activities for children and families to becomefamiliar with program.
Completes a face to face intake including income verification forfamilies applying for the program.
Assists families with advocacy such as attending IEP/IFSP meetings,parent meetings, etc.
Facilitates parent meetings on a monthly basis at location (s).
Encourages parent, family, and community engagement activities.
Any other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirements ofthe Head Start program.
