The Test Engineer will develop, test, and integrate complex electronic test systems and electronic hardware units which support spacecraft flight programs. This individual will act as a responsible engineer (RE) of the test set for a given spacecraft unit or sub-system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for electronic hardware development including architecture design, detailed design, performing briefings/reviews, hardware test, production-site integration, and post-delivery support.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Architect, design/develop, and build complex test systems for space units and sub-systems
Lead the development and execution of test procedures and test plans
Collaborate with test-software developers, flight unit software developers, and electrical engineering PCBA designers on test planning activities
Lead, prepare, and conduct test readiness reviews with stakeholders and program leadership
Export Control Requirement:

A day in the life
The Test Engineer will be a member of the hardware validation team with responsibilities for developing hardware test fixtures and test automation for validation of various avionics and payload subsystems. This is a cross-functional role requiring constant interaction with multiple HW/SW design teams and end-users. You will define the architecture and roadmaps for design and implementation of test sets and electrical test equipment. You will be focused on driving automation and optimization of test processes.
About the team
Avionics and Verification Test team is responsible for developing/designing, building, delivering, and supporting complex test sets for space avionics units, payload units, and subsystems.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science or a related field.
3+ years of experience designing complex test systems for the validation of complex hardware/PCBAs
3+ years of experience integrating software and hardware systems
3+ years experience developing and executing test plans for complex aerospace, automotive or consumer electronics systems.
3+ years’ experience in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
1+ years of scripting or programming experience (Python, MATLAB, C, LabVIEW)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in test plans and protocols related to established Space Hardware test processes (GEVS / SMC-S-016)
Knowledge of hardware and software tools for test automation (e.g. NI, Python, C/C++, Labview, etc.)
Experience with power supplies, IMUs, FPGAs, sensors, RF, and high-speed electrical signal characterization
Experience with PCB/CCA design, development, test, and integration
Experience with electronic unit design, development, test, and integration
Experience with electronic Test System (Test Set) design, development, test, and post-delivery support
Experience with developing and present design reviews for internal and external customers
Experience with developing final performance data packages

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
