Position Title: Guaranteed Income Program Director

　　Posting Classification/Salary: Non-exempt: $32 per hour ($66, 560 annually) - $33.50 per hour ($69, 680 annually)

　　Position Context:

　　Working toward United Way of Pierce County's (UWPC) bold goal of lifting 15,000 households out of poverty by 2028 this role fits within the department of community impact and reports to the Vice President of Community Impact. This multifaceted role is dedicated to designing, implementing, and advocating for the Growing Resilience In Tacoma (GRIT) guaranteed basic income demonstration{rel="nofollow"}. This role oversees all aspects of the GRIT demonstration and supports community impact colleagues in designing impact and community events.

　　GRIT began in 2021 under the leadership of Mayor Victoria Woodards, a founding member of Mayors for a Guaranteed Income{rel="nofollow"} (MGI) and United Way of Pierce County. December 2021-December 2022 GRIT gifted 110 different Tacoma families $500 a month, no-strings-attached. Following a recent investment from the State, GRIT is set to continue into the years to come. GRIT is intended not only to stimulate financial wellness in Tacoma but also to advocate for human-centered policies across the country and to stimulate a positive change in the public narrative of poverty.

　　Position Description:

　　United Way of Pierce County is searching for a highly skilled and motivated individual to serve as the full-time director for this demonstration. The GRIT Director will coordinate the overall strategy for the demonstration, manage storytelling partners, act as the spokesperson, coordinate research activities, and serve as the point of contact for program participants. Overall, this individual will be responsible for the administration and success of GRIT.

　　Guide the strategic direction of GRIT:

　　Work closely with leadership from United Way of Pierce County, the City of Tacoma, and Pierce County to identify research and story-telling priorities and partners, coordinate their activities, and ensure efficient and smart execution against the guarantee income initiative's priorities.

　　Identify new opportunities to bring in partners and improve the outcomes of GRIT.
