The Position
Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists.-

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor 1, the Grounds Maintenance Worker 4 position will be responsible for the maintenance of the irrigation system at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery by replacing and repairing irrigation lines, valves, rotors, pop-ups, diaphragms, drip systems and bubblers, adjusting heads and maintaining valve and heads clear of debris. Additional duties include mowing burial sections, edging around grave markers and along roadway curbing and mow curbing, trimming trees and shrubs, spraying fertilizers and weed control. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Two years of experience performing grounds maintenance work using a variety of tools and techniques; OR one year of experience as a Grounds Maintenance Worker III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Special Requirements

This position may require work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
