CBS News is looking for a creative individual with a strong design foundation who can handle high pressure situations and tight deadlines. The graphic artist will report directly to the Managing Art Director and will work with Creative Director and senior design team, building and implementing graphics for all shows under the CBS News and Stations brand.

　　The ideal candidate will be a proven artist, who can push boundaries with stunning designs and sharp graphics. We are looking for an artist who can both work independently as well as within a group. Work includes show identity and graphics packages, augmented reality, interactive and explainer-style infographics. A heightened curiosity about key news-of-the-day topics, especially critical political events.

　　*This position is fully remote or can be hybrid in NYC.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Work together with the creative director and art directors to implement designs for all of CBS News and Stations (daily shows, special events, election coverage, etc.)

　　Design show branding and graphics packages using Adobe Suite, Vizrt, and Cinema 4D, and Work on both short-turnaround and long-term projects as necessary

　　Assist with creating and sourcing models/scenes/images for the graphics department library

　　Liaise with the creative management team, editorial colleagues, designers, and technicians to optimize CBS News and Stations brand

　　Respond and develop skills across programs and platforms in response to changing business and technical needs

　　Qualifications:

　　Minimum 5 years motion graphic design; modeling/animating/rendering in 3D and 2D environments

　　Previous experience creating complex data graphics for tv and online productions

　　Knowledge of Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator

　　Vizrt and/or Cinema 4D (or comparable 3D software) experience is a plus

　　Understanding of television control room workflow and operations

　　Knowledge of broadcast video codecs and industry standard file formats

　　Demonstrate a high standard of editorial awareness

　　Demonstrate an understanding of visual language and graphic design

　　Ability to multitask and perform at the highest levels under stress and tight deadlines

　　Ability to interact with a wide variety of people using diplomacy tact and discretion

　　Hiring Salary Range: $100,000.00 - 120,000.00.

　　The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
