Floyd College of Medicine (WSU COM) Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office, the Institutional Coordinator provides on-site support at assigned WSU GME clinical Affiliate site(s). The Institutional Coordinator helps ensure program and institutional compliance with accrediting bodies such as the ACGME with their guidance, consultation, and oversight. Additionally, the position helps create an environment conducive to excellence in residency training programs.Further, the Institutional Coordinator helps the GME office execute WSU's GME strategic initiatives and operating goals system-wide. This position also helps ensure optimum performance of GME Program Administrators/Coordinators' partnerships with GME Program Directors in the operational management of GME programs to advance the learning environment. The Institutional Coordinator collaborates with GME Program Directors, Administrators and Coordinators in support of a high quality, safe learning environment for residents/fellows.The Institutional Coordinator works with the COM GME Office to resolve issues, develop and implement policies and procedures, identify and implement process improvement initiatives and assists in developing the GME budget. This position participates in GME strategic planning initiatives and develops process to support the needs of GME and coordinates with GME program administrators on matters representing the COM interests.Duties and Responsibilities Include:• 40% Operations• 35% Compliance and Accreditation Management• 10% Training and Development• 5% Fiscal and Budget Management• 5% Liaison and Partnership Coordination• 5% OtherRequired Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.Additional Requirements:• Three (3) years experience related to assistance, support, or coordination of residency experiences (or similar) or other activities in an education, medical education, healthcare, health sciences, or equivalent setting.• Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (C-TAGME) certification or ability to obtain this certification after date of hire, timeline to be determined.• Demonstrated experience with oral presentation, written communication ability and ability to quickly acquire working knowledge of the policies, principles and procedures of the university.• Demonstrated ability and willingness to communicate effectively with diverse staff, faculty, and community members.• Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership/management skills.• Valid driver license and ability to drive for work purposes.Preferred Qualifications:• Previous experience as a Program Administrator or Program Coordinator in a residency or related program.• Graduate medical education environment experience.• Broad knowledge of educational functions including the areas of residency education.Additional Information:Area/College: Elson S.
