JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: The Teacher (TR) is responsible forthe daily programming for children enrolled in the School program. Therole includes implementing and providing developmentally appropriatepractices and high quality and education according to the standards setforth by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), the MilwaukeeParental Choice Program (MPCP), and federal guidelines. The Teacherensures that the needs of children and their families are understood andcommunicated as the primary SJA liaison. Position Reports to: PrincipalQualifications: BS Degree in Education with valid DPI Certification 2+years experience within early care working in a elementary schoolsetting preferred Bilingual speaker (Spanish) preferred Exemplaryinterpersonal, collaborative, and planning skills Interest and abilityto support children and their families Proficient in Microsoft Officeproducts and office equipment Ability to analyze an issue, identifyoptions, and implement solutions Ability to work cooperatively withpeople in and outside of the Education Department Ability to communicate(verbally and in writing) and effectively interact with children, theirfamily members, management, and staff members Ability to respondpositively to work direction and guidance from others Ability to workindependently, managing multiple demanding tasks under criticaltimeframes Equipment Used: Office equipment: personal computers,printers, phone systems, fax machine, photocopier Physical and MentalRequirements: Must have ability to sit (25%), walk/stand (75%),routinely throughout the shift. Must be able to periodically lift up to50 lbs. Must have functional senses/manual dexterity to carry out thejob; communicate effectively; and use of office equipment. Must have theability to deal effectively with the stress of managingemergency/critical situations and multiple tasks. EnvironmentalConditions: Performs duties with exposure to infectious or communicablediseases inherent to care children, and occasional exposure to loud orunpleasant voices due to unpredictable behavior of the children andseasonal exposure to high humidity, heat and cold due to the internaland external environment.
