YMCA Camp MacLean is located inbeautiful southeast Wisconsin, one mile east of the city of Burlington.Throughout the years the camp has served tens of thousands of youth fromall over the Chicagoland area and southeast Wisconsin. Our programs havegrown from a summer camp for boys to a year-round camping center servingyouth, families, and many different organizations. Under the directsupervision of the Program Director, the Overnight Camp Junior Counseloris responsible to assist the counselor with the well-being of 10-14youth 24 hours a day for the duration of the camp session. Pay rangestarts at \$540 bi-weekly, housing & meals provided Scope andResponsibilities: Responsible for assisting the Summer Overnight CampCounselor with ALL campers. Ensure safety for ALL campers at ALL timesincluding: Physical and emotional health Never leaving a camperunsupervised. Putting campers first Being aware and able to determine ifsomething is unsafe, i.e... pillow fights, sliding down banister, towelwhipping, etc. Assist the Summer Overnight Camp Counselor to supervisecampers at all times, so that a camper is never unsupervised. JuniorCounselors cannot supervise campers on their own without a leadcounselor (18+ years old) Providing certain campers with problems extraindividual attention, but not to neglect the campers without problems.Teach skill periods depending on their interest and abilities. Providepublic relations/customer service to parents/guardians to ensure apositive impression of our camps. Provide and prepare stories, skits,stunts, games, devotions, etc. prior to the start of camp for cabintime, rainy days, or extended periods of time. Be available and flexibleto provide support and fill in at any area of the camp at all times.Prohibiting intimate displays of affection toward any camper. Thisincluding and not limited to: hand holding, writing letters or emails tocampers, asking for phone numbers of campers, text messaging campers orsharing phone number with campers. It is prohibited to participate inany camper/counselor romances. Serve as a lifeguard or look out at thewaterfront and at the pool. Lead cabin devotions or huddle ups eachnight before bed. Assist Summer Overnight Camp Counselor with trackingcamper\'s hygiene. Campers are to take a soapy shower every day. Campersare never to go home on check-out day dirty or unclean.
