Job Summary
The Global Vendor Master Manager reports to the Austin Global Financial Services Accounts Payable Manager. He/she is responsible for the Vendor Master Data functions for Applied Materials and its subsidiaries. The role includes monitoring of daily activity, reporting on activity volumes and results, influencing stakeholders to drive improvements into the MDM process, and driving continuous process improvements. The Vendor Master Manager interacts with outsourced delivery leadership and internal Applied Materials’ resources to ensure the highest standards of delivery and support.
Major Responsibilities
Lead daily operational duties and provide support to outsourced team globally
Ensure transaction processing is in compliance with Applied Materials’ policies and procedures
Delivery of accurate and timely 1099 and 1042 tax forms
Communication and partnership with other stakeholders to drive improved service and controls
Participation & leadership in the global team to drive consistencies and extend best practices
Participation & leadership on project teams including but not limited to acquisitions and integrations, to ensure master data practices and policies are followed
Consistent communication of metrics to stakeholders
Support cross functional projects for Finance and Procurement and other business partners
Provide guidance for business process / systemic requirements impacting ERP systems (mainly SAP) and / or Master Data
Partner with Regional Process Owners for execution of process improvements
Key Competencies
Strong data analytics, able to effectively leverage tools like Excel.
Highly knowledgeable in providing guidance to outsourced provider, including monitoring SLAs, and handling escalations
Ensures SOX controls, Finance policies, documented procedures are enforced. Understands regulatory and policy compliance requirements especially those that impact legal and trade
Experienced and highly knowledgeable in 1099 and 1042 tax reporting, strong understanding of tax requirements
Establishes strong working relationship with peers and stakeholders to address cross-functional processes and influence changes outside of the team. Can communicate concisely and clearly both orally and in written form.
Drives open issues to closure. Provides regular status updates to stakeholders.
Strong people & project management skills. Accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects. Sets objectives and goals for self and team. Measure performance against goals. Evaluates results and holds self and others accountable.
Customer orientation. Incorporates the customer impact in all activities with the goal of improving customer experience during service
Advanced knowledge of overall business processes from a Global perspective & project leadership skills
Excellent communication skills, time management, organizational, problem-solving and people management skills, self-motivated, has good interpersonal relationship skills, process optimization, root cause analysis and technical savvy
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university with a major in accounting or finance preferred
6-8 years of shared service center and/or accounting/finance experience
Experience in support of audit requirements, SAP technical expertise and advanced Excel skills preferred

U.S. Salary Range:
$104,000.00 - $143,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
