About Global Governance Manager , Amazon Corporate Security

  The Global Governance Manager is to ensure effective governance and compliance across all security operations and initiatives within Amazon Corporate Security. You will work closely with various stakeholders to assess risks, establish controls, and monitor compliance with security policies and best practices. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive continuous improvement and ensure that the team meets its objectives.Key job responsibilities* Governance Framework Development: Developing and maintaining a comprehensive governance framework that outlines the organization's governance structure, processes, and responsibilities.* Compliance Monitoring: Monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the organization.* Reporting and Documentation: Compiling and preparing reports on governance activities, compliance status. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation related to governance processes and controls.* Training and Awareness: Developing and delivering training programs to educate employees on governance principles* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with key stakeholders, including senior management, board members, and external regulatory bodies. Providing guidance, advice, and support on governance matters.* Identify improvement opportunities and lead the team in developing and implementing solutions to drive measurable improvements* Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure that improvements are implemented effectively and efficiently* Develop and maintain a system for monitoring and reporting on improvement initiatives and outcomes* Supporting program leads* Maintain alignment on relevant ISO standards and other quality management requirements* Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on continuous improvement principles, methodologies, and tools* Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organizationA day in the lifeThe Global Governance Manager engages with internal stakeholders on a daily basis. They communicate updates to senior management, aligning governance with organizational goals. Collaboration with senior leaders involves reporting and addressing inquiries. The manager works closely with various Amazon security teams to ensure compliance with policies and drive continuous improvement. They collaborate with legal, compliance, and internal audit teams to align policies and conduct assessments. Together, they promote effective governance, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization, striving to enhance processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions for measurable advancements in governance effectiveness and risk mitigation.About the teamSecurity Assurance program adopts a "plan, do, check, act" approach in order to support, improve ACS operations and complement the Amazon Corporate Security (ACS) Risk Management framework.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Commerce (Internal Audit), information systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are desirable.* Proven experience in corporate security, risk management, or governance roles, preferably in a global organization.* Strong knowledge of security governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).* Familiarity with security technologies, tools, and methodologies.* Excellent understanding of risk management principles.* Minimum of 5 years' experience in continuous improvement or quality management roles* Strong understanding of quality management principles and methodologies, including relevant ISO standards (such as
