Job Description: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, directly assists the GI Physician during endoscopy procedures and as a second assistant to RN during selected procedures. Prepares GI procedure rooms for use and cleans the rooms and equipment after use. Prepares Endoscopy room and equipment for use, sets up equipment, cleans flexible endoscopes and other procedure equipment and performs preventative maintenance procedures and maintains scope reprocessing equipment to assure appropriate functioning of the equipment • Graduate of Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician Program or comparable program preferred. • High School Diploma or GED. • Previous experience with upper endoscopy and colonscopy procedures preferred with basic knowledge of GI procedures and diagnostic testing. • Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control principles • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment with exposure to all patient elements.
