The General Technician Lead will report to the Manufacturing Manager. The major areas of responsibility for this position are ensuring a smooth-running shift while working alongside/with employees and providing support to all manufacturing cells. The list includes but is not limited to validating part quality, packaging finished goods, proper part containment and basic mold and machine maintenance. In addition, the Lead position will work in various cells on their assigned shift, based on daily staffing shortages or needs; during times of full coverage, the Lead will focus on superior part quality of all cells.
Responsible for validating quality of parts (flash, short shots, color, quantity)
Run proper part containment for parts found to be defective while on shift.
Label and package product in compliance with work instructions and customer requirements
Publish a written ‘Shift Report’ documenting significant shift events and important cross over communication.
Provide leadership for the shift crossover meeting.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Use computer, including SPC software, dial/digital calipers, gauges, and hand tools.
Complete Routsis Training Program
Complete Tool Room job shadowing
Maintain 5S and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Startup/shutdown and basic troubleshooting of injection molding machines, automation, and auxiliary equipment within production cell on 12-hour shift
Document the need for tool repair or machine maintenance.
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Audit/ fix skid counts
Complete Layered process Audits
Communicate and execute press schedule.
Ensure adherence to work balance tool (in the absence of a cell leader)

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to lift 55 lbs.
Willing to work 12-hour shifts including weekends, as scheduled.

Basic computer skills
