Job Description/Summary:

　　The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time General Maintenance Worker (GMW). The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and general facilities maintenance. The GMW will be responsible for climbing ladders, replacing lightbulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, and responding to service tickets submitted by the customer. The job will be located on the Naval Weapons Station base and will be working with a team covering the NIWC complex.

　　The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment, tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken windowpanes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. The job also requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. of furniture to assist in moving couches, chairs, dining room sets, and miscellaneous items.

　　Clear background investigation. Clear drivers license

　　Preferred Skills:

　　General maintenance experience of 3 years.

　　Preferred Experience:

　　Three (3) years of experience in general maintenance repair, operations maintenance and facilities services.

　　Required Education:

　　High School diploma or GED.
