Job Summary * * The Public Safety Officer is responsible for the safety and security of patients, visitors, physicians and employees. Under the general direction of the Public Safety Manager: plans, controls and organizes day-to-day activities within established parameters to enforce and maintain Hospital and departmental standards of safety and security; patrols and inspects buildings and premises and reports problems to appropriate authorities; performs investigations and documents findings; responds to and assists with emergency situations; and provides assistance to Hospital staff as requested. In addition, Public Safety Officer will provide visitor and employee escorts, when practical; patrol parking lots for violations; work in cooperation with local law enforcement when circumstances warrant; and maintain strict confidentiality of all information obtained during the course of their duties, as defined by law and Hospital policy. · State of CT Security Guard card/required/ · One year experience in public safety/security · IAHSS Associate membership, within first year of employment · Healthcare provider level CPR Certification (obtain & maintain) We take great care of careers.
