DescriptionJob Summary:The primary responsibility of the Steam/Gas Mechanic is to safely accomplishthe installation, maintenance and repair of the heavy rotating machineryused mainly in power generation applications. Turbine Mechanics work closelywith Supervisors, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to achievethese goals. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive ourFieldCore vision and align with our organization's core values.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Dismantle, assemble, move and align, machinery and equipment using:hoists, cranes, chain falls, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic andhydraulic tools, micrometers, rules, squares, plumb bobs, dialindicators and/or laser alignment equipmentRead blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determineproper work proceduresResponsible for shipping and receiving all major pieces for T&DC, plus allshipping, receiving, inventory, and control of tools, equipment and suppliesPerform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipmentsuch as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenchesPerform machining and welding operations for making various parts for lab andshop training equipmentDetermine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists for purchasing,consisting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices as needed tocomplete assigned projectsLoad, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and suppliesand perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs as neededRead blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determineproper work proceduresInstall machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints andother drawings in industrial establishmentsAbility and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as requiredby field assignments.Required Qualifications & Experience:Minimum of one (1) years' experience maintaining, dismantling, andinstalling machinery and industrial service equipment including variouspumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbinesValid Driver's LicensePreferred: Degree/Associate Degree in Technical Field or Gas Turbine SystemsDesired Characteristics:Ability to disassemble and reassemble complex rotating equipment - Bolting,Hydraulic Bolting, Flange Management, Small Bore Piping, BasicRigging/Lifting, O/H Crane OperatorProficient in the following: mechanical/technical skills, oralcommunications skills, Critical ThinkingManage time-sensitive tasks and maintain a schedule within operationallychallenging environments.Must work well both independently and in a team environment.Compensation andBenefits:
The hourly wage range for this position is $20.00 to $31.49. Employees maybe eligible for overtime.
