Allied Universal® is hiring a Garnishment Specialist. The Garnishment Specialist is responsible for partnering with ADP for the timely processing of garnishments for a nationwide, multistate customer base including US Territories. Working closely with ADP to forward garnishment documents, researching and problem-solving discrepancies, and meeting compliance standards are key to the success of the Garnishment Process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare incoming (via mail, fax, scan) garnishment documents to upload into ADP portal
Respond to ADP Communications requiring research, missing information, or further action
Open and refer emails from general Garnishment Inbox to coworkers for processing
Make phone calls to (or email) employees, plaintiffs, courts, or attorneys for communicating or retrieving garnishment information
Complete Interrogatories that may require math calculations
Respond to client, employee, and agency withholding order inquiries in a timely fashion
Research and problem-solve payment and employee deduction discrepancies on behalf of agencies and employees
Scan historical garnishment documents, capture meta-data, and file into a SharePoint database
Work on special projects given by manager including utilizing Excel spreadsheets
Provide quality customer service to both internal and external customers
Comply with company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
Minimum of three (3) years of previous garnishment experience, preferably in a national or multi-state company
Knowledge of diverse types of garnishments, their withholding limits, priority levels and compliance to state statutes.
Ability to analyze an issue and have the initiative to seek out all methods to get to the root of the problem
Detail oriented and good math aptitude
Excellent reading comprehension and able to understand legal documents
Able to work a flexible schedule and to work overtime, as requested
Proficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology
Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion
Exercise extreme confidentiality while viewing corporate and management employee garnishments/pay rates
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to take initiative; problem-solver, proactive, and motivated
Able to work independently in fast-paced environment
Teamwork
Excellent organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ADP payroll or ADP garnishment work experience
Legal background/work experience
Associate degree in Business Administration
College attendance with an English/Language Arts major
