  Job Description

  Salinas Valley Health has roots running back to 1953 when they were first founded to serve the Monterey County Community. Today, thousands of individuals and families are served throughout the Salinas Valley, Monterey Peninsula and the surrounding region. Salinas, CA is known as the "Salad Bowl of the World" for its large, vibrant agriculture industry.

  The Food Service Director is a management position responsible for developing and executing dining solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. Oversees and manages dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu.

  COMPENSATION: The salary rate for this position ranges from $135,000.00 to $145,000.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant?s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark?s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

  If hired, employee will be in an ?at-will position? and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

  $5,000 Sign-on bonus

  Job Responsibilities

  Key Responsibilities

  ? Establish and maintain systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing and serving of food related products, as well as menu planning and development

  ? Develops operational component forecasts and can explain variances. Responsible for components accounting functions.

  ? Ensures that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels in respective areas are met

  ? Coordinates and supervises unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and cost control, labor management and employee training

  ? Recruits, hires, develops and retains front line team.

  ? Conducts period inventory

  ? Maintains records to comply with ARAMARK, government and accrediting agency standards

  ? May participate in sales process and negotiation of contracts

  ? Looks for opportunities to implement new products and services which support sales growth and client retention

  Additional Responsibilities

  ? Manage the front of the house of the dining operation (Cafeteria/ Residential Dining Facility)

  ? Develop and implement food service plans aligned with the client's mission and vision, to include sustainable practices

  Qualifications

  ? Requires at least 5 years of experience in acute healthcare setting

  ? Requires at least 1-3 years of experience in a management role, including the oversight of salaried exempt employees

  ? Requires previous experience in food service and managing in a union environment

  ? Requires a bachelor?s degree in Nutrition Services or be a Certified Dietary Manager.

  ? Ability to develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships

  ? Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments to a unified food service experience for all customers
