Summary
The Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) performs treatment andprovides exercise instruction and patient education aimed atimproving/enhancing the patient's well-being while following theestablished plan of care.Salary: $30 - $38 per visit DOE
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, is at all times responsibleto follow all state specific laws governing the provision of physical therapyin home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the PhysicalTherapist; to perform only those procedures that he/she is qualified andtrained to perform and to make all recommendations for changes in the plan ofcare to the supervising Physical Therapist.Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in evidence basedtreatment within the scope of the physical therapy assistant and according tothe state laws governing physical therapy assistants.Observes, records, and reports to the supervising PT, the nursesupervisor, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment andchanges in the patient's condition. Coordinates care with the other membersof the healthcare team as appropriate.Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the healthcare team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the physical therapyassistant.Visits patients within the entire service area of their respective agency andother nearby LHC agencies as neededAccording to Plan of Treatment; complete a progress note for each visit andsubmits progress notes per LHC policy.Participates in staff conferences and committees as requested by the agency.Adheres to LHC Therapy Standards of Practice in provision of services to allpatients.Partcipates in a weekend rotation to provide services for their respectiveagency and other nearby LHC agencies as needed.All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
License RequirementsCurrent licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice ofphysical therapy in state of practiceCurrent CPR certificationCurrent driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependablevehicle or public transportation
