  Primary Function

  Creative, quick-thinking, self-motivated photographer responsible for conceptualizing and delivering still photographs for a wide range of projects including print, web, multimedia and digital publishing for internal and external use.

  Duties & Responsibilities

  Light, compose, shoot on-location photo-journalist photographs of high-level meetings, corporate events and personalities for publication and distribution to news media.

  Take and edit photographs to the highest possible standard.

  Set-up and photograph portraits and products in a studio environment, using studio strobes and accurate lighting ratios independently.

  Direct and manage the setup and image capture of large groups and individuals in mixed lighting conditions, using supplemental light, if needed.

  Capture, apply metadata, ingest and print passport and visa photographs.

  Edit photographs using Photo Mechanic and Photoshop to caption, organize, correct color, size and archive images for various internal and external uses.

  Ingest and organize photographs in the archive system.

  Handle multiple projects and deadlines and ensure high quality of work – with a strong attention to detail.

  Curate high-quality photo selections for internal and external print, web, multimedia and digital publishing products.

  Create accurate and comprehensive metadata in alignment with the IMF Photo Guidelines for commissioned photographers.

  Record and update KPIs for the Annual and Spring Meetings and Photo Studio sessions.

  Create and conduct teaching sessions for IMF staff on photography techniques and basics.

  Update online photo system with relevant, approved photos and professional captions for use by internal and external partners.

  Work in photo studio, on location around the Headquarters buildings, and at off-site locations as needed.

  Understand and adhere to the IMF photo guidelines.

  Maintain accurate project time recording using the Management Information System.

  Required to perform duties where necessary during extended hours, and occasionally for special events during evenings and weekends.

  On occasion, may be required to travel for work, as directed.

  Organize, manage and order photo supplies.

  Support the overall efforts of the Creative Team.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Skills & Qualifications

  Strong digital photography, lighting and compositional skills

  Knowledge of studio and natural lighting

  Strong creative, organizational and problem-solving skills

  Able to prioritize and juggle multiple projects

  Excellent communication skills

  Capable of working in a fast-paced and changing environment

  Performs well independently or as a supporting team member

  Proficient in Photoshop, Lightroom, PhotoMechanic as well as Microsoft suites (Excel, Outlook, Word).

  Education & Experience

  At least 3 years’ experience as a photographer obtained in a print, agency, or in-house creative agency environment.

  Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Photography, Communication or the Visual Arts is required.
