Prepares for both games and practices and any other special projects assigned to me. Breaking down and analyzing opponents; developing and maintaining offensive, defensive, special teams self analysis. Maintaining and organizing an archived video/resource library of all past games, studies, and self-scouts. Assist in advancing the department's guiding principles, vision, and strategic plan including its commitment to equity and diversity. Essential Functions 30 %-Offensive/defensive analysis (Self-Scout) Game practice breakdowns - input our offensive data/terminology for games/practices. Cutups - create and maintain specific video edits based on plays, formations, personnel, motions, shifts, protections, down and distance, field positions, situations for coaches to watch. Reports - create and maintain reports used to identify strengths and weaknesses within our systems and provide these to coaching staff so they have the information to know what our tendencies are and what has been successful for us. 30%-Opponent Analysis (Opponent Scout) Opponents' games breakdowns - input data of opponents' games so we can identify the specific schemes they run as well as similar offenses to our's and how they handle it. Cutups - create and maintain specific video edits based on similar plays, formations, personnel, motions, shifts, protections, downs and distance, field positions, situations for coaches to watch. Reports - create and maintain reports that will provide coaches with detailed information on each opponent's defense and their tendencies, personnel Scouting reports - reports that contain specific information (personnel, tendencies, defensive scheme) 15%-Game Day/Practice Organization Responsible for making sure all practice scripts are typed and handed out to the appropriate people Organizing and creating any cards, wristbands used in our offensive system Creating all game plans and any other "game day" resources that any coach might require 15%-Develops on campus recruiting experience for prospective athletes. Assist football coaches in recruiting with organization of recruiting events, including on-campus official recruiting visits and game-day visits. Mentors student athletes in academic and life skills development. Coordinate community service activities. Other related duties as assigned by the coaches or director of operations. 10%-Special Projects - This consists of any other project that I am assigned or responsible for, such as: Playbooks Video installs Creating presentations Creating opponent workbooks Fall/spring workbooks Studies (researching other offenses) Other Skills Problem solving skills: varied situations that require significant analysis or interpretation; general precedents and practices used, but may be modified Per NCAA rules, in administration classification, this position cannot provide on-field instruction. Qualifications Required: * BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years. * Two years of experience in playing and/or coaching football, advanced computer skills, and knowledge of NCAA rules. * Valid Driver's License Preferred: * Master's Degree About the Department With more than 140 years of tradition, Gopher Athletics is one of the oldest and most decorated athletics departments in the country.
