About Food Service Worker

  Summary About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Food Service Worker within the 405th Army Field Support Brigade, Food Services Branch, Wiesbaden, Germany. Responsibilities Set up food service counters with beverages, hot and cold foods Wash, clean, peel, slice or otherwise prepare raw food material to ready-to-cook or ready-to-serve form, using machines or manual methods Scrape, soak, scour and scrub the heavier cooking utensils. Assist in loading/unloading supplies from storeroom or refrigerator Transport cleaned equipment to appropriate storage area. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This announcement will be open on a continuous basis until September 30, 2024. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Food Service Worker without more than normal supervision to include performing heavy-duty cleaning tasks including cleaning ceilings, exhaust hoods, spaces under and behind the kitchen equipment; move equipment in order to wash floors and walls. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices Physical Effort - Frequently lifts objects up to 45 pounds, when unloading supply trucks, loading and unloading dishwasher, carrying garbage cans etc. Any lifting of objects heavier than 45 pounds will be done with help. Must have full range of upper body motion to enable cleaning tasks to be done (mopping, buffing, washing of walls). Working Conditions - Work is performed predominantly in noisy kitchen and dining room areas and involves continuous standing and walking. Food Service Workers are subject to injuries from equipment used; exposure to dirt, grease, hot water, steam and detergents used in cleaning tasks. Education This position DOES NOT require any education, therefor this position DOES NOT allow substitute of experience with education. you must meet the experience requirements only. Additional Information Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230, DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights.. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12. Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250. For positions in a foreign country, that country's laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employee's same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits. If you believe you may be affected by these laws and agreements, you should familiarize yourself with relevant information and direct questions concerning a specific country (Foreign Duty Location) to the appropriate Army Human Resources point of contact prior to the acceptance of employment and your entrance on duty. The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months. This is a Career Program (CP) 13 - Supply Management position. Defense National Relocation Program will not be authorized.
