　　In this position, the Senior technologist performs high complexity testing pursuant to established and approved protocols requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimum supervision. Actively participates in the department quality programs and adheres to policies and procedures developed for the department.

　　The schedule for these openings are Monday-Friday 9:00am-530pm with rotating Saturdays.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria

　　Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures

　　Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality

　　Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving

　　Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls

　　Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care

　　Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors or unusual results

　　Provide guidance to technical staff with the analysis and interpretation of final results

　　Perform new test procedures and/or methods and provide feedback based on your findings

　　Assist with training and orientation of new employees as needed

　　Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

　　Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary

　　Assist with processing of specimens when needed

　　Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

　　​ Requirements:

　　Bachelors Degree In Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology (MT or MLS) or Other Life Science OR Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT Degree)

　　MT or MLS National Certification (i.e. ASCP, AMT or other)

　　At least 1 year of Flow Cytometry experience preferred but not required

　　Ability to work independently and within a team environment

　　Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus

　　High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

　　Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

　　Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
