Summary About the Position: This position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility (ASF) MacDill Air Force Base East located at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. Responsibilities Serving as Flight Engineer Instructor (FI) in UH60 aircraft, providing. instruction, evaluation, and examination on ground and operational training flights to develop and upgrade skills of non-rated aircrew members. Operating aircraft systems and performing maintenance on rotary wing aircraft and systems. Performing visual and operational inspection of aircraft engines, oxygen, fuselage, aerial refueling boom area, flight control surfaces; and electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Monitoring and observing engine operations, aircraft systems, warning indicators and enunciator panels for system failures while in flight. Performing post-flight inspection of the aircraft and all aircraft systems. Repairing minor deficiencies and performing the support maintenance work involving the disassembly and modification of rotary and fixed wing aircraft. Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Minimum eligibility requirements for positions in this occupation are based on possession of appropriate training, and certifications or ratings required to perform the duties of a Flight Engineer or Aircrew Technician. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, One year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of the position being filled. Experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities regarding aircrew procedures and operations; pre-flight procedures, aircraft loading (including weight and balance factors), airplane systems, emergency procedures, operation of aircraft engines and systems, maintenance and inspection procedures, and/or other pertinent expertise needed to perform the work. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
