Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton is a non-profit organization that has been in operation for 35 years and is governed by a community-based, volunteer board of directors. We provide full-day early learning and child care programs for infant, toddler and, preschool children, as well as before and after school programs plus summer camps for kindergarten and school age children. There are 27 Umbrella childcare sites in the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board.
The Board strives to reflect the diverse perspectives of the Hamilton community and is committed to providing quality service to families and children.
If you are passionate about the well-being of children and families and are interested in governing in an organization that positively impacts the lives of families in the Hamilton community, we would love to hear from you.
Board members should have a knowledge of the Hamilton community and a demonstrated interest in early learning and the child care sector.

Leadership Skills
Knowledge of Governance and Funding Models for Not for Profit Organizations
Community Partnership Skills
Business Experience (such as Risk Management or Finance)
Legal Experience
Previous Board Experience
