Colleague is keyinterface for the provision of technical support and training for the customerand as such is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Refers morecomplex issues to higher level colleagues.Working knowledge of blueprints, schematics, manuals, and otherspecifications to determine installation procedures unassisted, may requireassistance with more complex specifications.Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairsequipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard testinstruments and hand tools.Working understanding of building, mechanical, sprinkler and fire codes.Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyzeperformance and identify malfunctions. Writes routine programs for systems.Acts as "our customer's best service provider" at all times therebyensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer's first choice for service.Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in systemoperation, maintenance, and warranty work.May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, productperformance, installation techniques and standards as well as suggestionsfor product improvements.Executes many of the technical aspects of multiple projects with varyingtimelines and budgets including, programming, graphics development,start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-outdocumentation, and on-going technical support etc..Identifies potential project risks, communicates to appropriate parties andassist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impactand to control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.Works with Fire Alarm Designer to ensure fire alarm system meets all relevantcodes and standards.Works closely with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager and assistsin the overall coordination of specific projects; makes recommendationsregarding quality of work and potential changes in scope and identifies waysto continuously improve customer satisfaction.Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.What You'll NeedExceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability tomaintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customerwithout being prompted.Ability to convey complex subject matter to a non-technical audience.Willing to learn technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarmsystems, and/or electronic security systems.To be a self-starter and work well with little supervision.Understanding of electronics to include Ohm's law, resistor color code,and relay logic for control of third-party equipment.Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of handand power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).Experience programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning Edwards orequivalent fire alarm systems of small to medium complexity.To be driven to achieve necessary certifications/licensing related toproducts, industry, and city/state.Willingness to coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Possess NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems.Possess low voltage electrical license as required by local/state authority.Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnighttravel may be required.
