As a Financial Operations Accountant you will obtain deep understanding of complex aspects of Rail's collections and invoicing including Railroad payments, casualty payments, maintenance re-bills, and transfers and assumptions. You will prepare and upload credit application batches including complete full reconciliations of bi-monthly credit batches. Research discrepancies and bring to final resolution. You will also assist funds application specialist during high volume times and gain full understanding of the funds application and credit application processes.

Job Responsibilities:
Obtain deep understanding of complex aspects of Rail's collections and invoicing including Railroad payments, casualty payments, maintenance re-bills, transfers and assumptions, etc.Support corporate accounting reconciliations including Misc AP and Cash Clearing.Reconcile complex customer accounts including payments and credit applications.Assist funds application specialist during high volume times and gain full understanding of the funds application and credit application processes.Prepare and upload credit application batches including complete full reconciliations of bi-monthly credit batches. Research discrepancies and bring to final resolution.Support system testing covering a variety of elevations and enhancements throughout Financial Operations.Collect on a limited portfolio of Rail customers, generate and send monthly statements, follow-up on disputes and direct customer questions internally when necessary.Assist AVP Collections on ad hoc projects and obtain a deep understanding of all responsibilities.Opportunity to advance to AVP Collections and Cash Applications with appropriate development and demonstrated understanding.Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in BusinessA minimum of 1 year experience in Operations, Analytics, Accounting or Rail
Other/Preferred Qualifications:Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.Detail orientedExtremely organized and have strong attention to detail.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with teams.Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal).Must be a self-starter willing to take full responsibility and ownership of job.
