Description If you're a skilled Financial Analyst, Robert Half has a job for you. There is an opening for a Financial Analyst, who will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. The strongest candidates for this position will be comfortable with conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. You will also advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management. This Financial Analyst role is based in the Pleasanton, California, area and is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity.
Your responsibilities in this role
Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide decision making support
Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
Work closely with cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans
Work next to senior executives on long-term deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
Research performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities
Edit and manage forecasting reports
Track monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources
This position would suit a flexible individual that has experience managing large amounts of information and meeting expectations Requirements - BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred
Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience prioritized)
Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
Financial Notes experience preferred
Finance experience
Proven knowledge of Financial data

Experience with Accounting Functions
Proficiency in Perform Ad Hoc Financial
