Description
We are seeking a Finance Lead to join our team in the Education industry, located in Seattle, Washington. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity and will be responsible for overseeing various financial and administrative tasks within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accounts payable, ensuring all expenditures are authorized and in compliance with business expense policy and travel policy.
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy and manage credit card transactions.
• Enter all vendor invoices into the accounting system and process payments as specified.
• Maintain and reconcile petty cash and ensure sales taxes are paid on taxable transactions.
• Process annual 1099s and facilitate employee questions on payroll tax processing.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and investigate unusual bank and credit card transactions as needed.
• Enter bi-weekly payroll information into the payroll system and maintain date-sensitive information.
• Collaborate with the Development Department on gift records and reconciliation.
• Post monthly closing entries into the journal and produce budget-to-actual reports.
• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.
These responsibilities are critical to ensure the smooth operation of the financial department.
Requirements • Must possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Should have a solid understanding of General Ledger and Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Experience in handling Month End Close activities is vital
• Familiarity with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is desirable
• Must have a background in the education industry, preferably in a university setting
• Should have proven leadership skills and the ability to oversee a financial team
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
• Excellent communication and presentation skills are necessary
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality.
