Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain Finance, the Finance Director, Global Inventory will be a core member of the Supply Chain finance team. By developing and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships, the Finance Director, Global Inventory will deliver significant financial insight to constructively challenge the business, drive performance and ensure rigor in decision making. This includes evaluating investment opportunities, identifying efficiency and cost improvements as well as identifying and mitigating financial risk. Furthermore, the Finance Director, Global Inventory is expected to be a thought leader in driving the continuous improvement of global inventory planning and forecasting processes. Furthermore, the Finance Director, Global Inventory will work directly with the U.S. Supply Chain site leaders on leading inventory control strategies within their locations. As a people leader, The Finance Director of Global Inventory will model genuine teamwork, enterprise-first thinking, and a learning mindset. Flexibility will be required to balance and adjust priorities across shorter- and longer-term delivery requirements of personal and team objectives.
Responsibilities -Global Inventory Planning, Forecasting, & Reporting -Partner with Supply Chain Director, Global Inventory to develop inventory goals, cash targets, and initiative building blocks to achieve those targets. This includes developing the annual operating plan and financial forecasts.Oversee the development and tracking of inventory metrics on a consolidated and business unit level basis. This includes tracking, reconciling, and analyzing inventory balances throughout the organization as well as analyzing actual month end results and understanding variances against the annual operating plan and financial forecasts and special projects.Work in a cross-functional SIOP team with the Commercial, Planning, and Supply Chain organizations to understand the inventory strategy for each sub-category in each financial forecast and how that impacts the required supply volumes to meet demandPartner with the Supply and Demand Planning functions to provide actionable business analytics and fact-based recommendations that will help deliver business resultsU.S. Inventory Support & Controls -Oversee development and execution of U.S. inventory controls strategiesAdvise and drive control design and implementation with U.S. Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Controllership. Including providing ongoing support to process owners/control owners and cross-functional teams to ensure controls are designed and implemented effectivelyMaintain dashboards and scorecards to measure inventory counts and accuracyAssisting in the evaluation of identified control deficiencies and monitoring of remediation effortParticipating in annual walkthroughs with process/application/control owners across the company and external auditorsEnsure compliance with all corporate accounting policies and financial reporting practices and ensure that internal controls exist throughout U.S. Supply Chain which are SOX compliant
Qualifications10+ years of experience in planning or financial analysis in a manufacturing environment with a preference for 3+ years of inventory accounting and/or supply chain finance5+ years of experience leading a teamDegree in finance or accounting; CPA/MBA a plusExperience advising on, designing, and executing U.S. inventory controls and compliance programs preferredA working knowledge of consolidation / BI systems essential with HYPERION HFM/COGNOS is advantageous, especially in disparate ERP environmentsA working knowledge of tax and regulatory jurisdictions, intercompany charging/transfer pricingExperience in supporting senior business leadership teams within a matrix organization and developing strate ic plans, budgets and forecastsAbility to work cross-functionally to build and maintain an operational plan linked to a financial plan that aligns with the company's short- and long-term strategic priorities and financial objectives.An innovative mindset, with an ability to present, communicate and build consensus on new ways of doing businessAbility to challenge, convince and handle multiple customersOwnership mentality and demonstrated ability to independently drive projects to completion, with high attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to simplify messages and communicate insights from analysis, leverage findings, and proactively make recommendationsDemonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, change, and a dynamic business environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; enjoys investigating problems and coming up with solutionsAbility to multitask and meet deadlines under pressureGlobal and domestic travel anticipated to be approximately 20%Fluent English
