In this role, you'll have the opportunity to provide technical expertise on TA Instruments' innovative product suite (Thermal Analysis Instruments) for multiple customer laboratories spanning across the Pharmaceutical Life Sciences, Chemical Materials, Clinical, Food, Environmental, Forensics, Academia and Government industries.TA Instruments is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and customer focused professional to join our world-renown Field Service Organization in the Oregon/Washington Service Territory.Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited toProvides customer service, training, diagnoses and troubleshoots customer problems, assists with parts management issues.Repairs, installs, and uses all currently supported instrument models and accessories; gains limited knowledge of applications software; calibrates instruments for efficient performance.Prepares a variety of reports, logs and documentation of service and repair activities; prepares service reports for input to the product reliability report; maintains up-to-date manuals, service notes, drawings, and other materials needed for efficiency.Prepares a variety of paperwork to detail work in progress, completed work, and other vital tracking paperwork; submits required paperwork on a timely basis to department management.Establishes and maintains prompt professional communications with customers and internal resources.Provides information to customers regarding service products and offerings; optimally sells service products and contracts.The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the followingEducation:Associates Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or other science related fieldBachelors Degree preferredExperience:2+ years experience with installation, performance maintenance, troubleshooting, support and/or end user utilization of scientific instrumentation, preference for previous TA Instruments product suite (DSC, TGA, SDT, TMA, and DMA)Ability to perform effective system level troubleshootingCompetencies:Must possess a strong customer focusInterpersonal savvy, connect with different expertise levels appropriately and change your approach to meet customers' needsPersonal sense of integrity and trust; ethical practiceMust be independent and able to make decisionsEffective time management skillsSystem level approach to problem solvingAnalytical approach with a strong aim to resolve open issuesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTravel:A clean driving license and a valid passport will be requiredThis is a territory-based position with travelling within your designated territory, and occasional overnight travel may be requiredCompany DescriptionWaters Corporation (NYSE: WAT), the world's leading specialty measurement company, has pioneered chromatography, mass spectrometry and thermal analysis innovations serving the life, materials, and food sciences for more than 60 years.
