About the Role
Reporting to the Laboratory Informatics Specialist Team Lead, the European Lab Auto Informatics Specialist works in team with other BD stakeholders and is responsible for delivering product expertise for Network Configuration and Computer Infrastructure for the implementation of our Lab Auto solutions at customer site, troubleshooting for Middleware solutions, Information Systems Integration and roll out BD Remote Support tools.
LAIS works closely with Workflow & Customer Solutions Team IDS Europe and IDS Lab Automation Project Managers Team to provide our customers with the best user experience.
As subject matter expert, you will provide regional support to customers of BD's middleware products and related informatics and connectivity solutions. You will work with regional and local country teams to successfully deploy competencies in implementation and post-sales support processes. As such, you are expected to work directly with customers, local Informatics Specialists, Field Service Engineers, Application Specialists, Commercial teams and the Global Service and Marketing organizations based in the US (Baltimore).
Your responsibilities in details:
Support BD Lab Automation implementation as a trusted advisor for Microbiology laboratories, providing guidance during and post-implementation phases.Collaborate with Project Managers, Field Service Engineers, Sales, Clinical Solutions, and informatics team members to execute comprehensive project plans for implementation.Lead configuration of BD Lab Automation Data Management Solution, including LIS connectivity and software customization to meet customer-specific laboratory settings/systems.Manage IT server installations and promptly respond to support requests, troubleshooting technical issues related to BD's middleware installations in collaboration with regional and local teams.Work with Regional, Global Support, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory departments to identify root causes of product issues, provide feedback for product improvement, and communicate regional insights to European marketing for global teams.
About You
You have Degree in Computer Sciences/Networking/Technical degree or comparable, demonstrable knowledge and experience.You demonstrate an excellent customer focus and problem-solving skills, with a flexible and proactive attitude towards changing priorities and managing multiple workstreams.Ideally you bring experience in a field-based support role, preferably in Flow Cytometry, Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, or BD medical devices. Specific experience includes supporting middleware solutions in hospital or laboratory IT environments, and experience as a 3rd line support engineer is a plus.you possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at various levels within customers and the BD organization.You are fluent in spoken and written English, with proficiency in a second and third European language considered an asset.You exhibit expert knowledge of information systems, including hardware, Operating System configuration, network design and troubleshooting, and virtualization technologies. High-level experience in Information Security, SQL Server installations and troubleshooting, connectivity to LIS systems, and proficiency in software development using C# and the .Net framework is advantageous.Willing to travel up to 60% within Europe and to the US
