Consultants please conduct a seated interview. Applicants must have 20days experience with Farm / Irrigation / Livestock work. Applicantshired must be able to obtain a valid driver\'s license as driving onpublic roads may be required. Applicants must be able to lift up to 100pounds. Dates of need are (3/22/2024 12/1/2024) This order is for workin Gooding, Idaho area. Job duties may require a split shift whenirrigating. Worker will be required to perform a variety of dutiesrelated to the production of alfalfa, corn, grain, potatoes, and cattle.The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period,however, will be related to general farm work/irrigation/cropproduction. General Farm Work will include the followingresponsibilities: maintain, drive, attach and operate farmimplements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilizeand harvest crops; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farmmachinery; may mix and/or spray chemicals (according to appropriaterestrictive use laws, when/if applicable); remove undesirable and excessgrowth from crops or farm grounds; remove rocks from field; paint/repairfarm structures; replace/repair fencing; perform general clean up offarm areas; drive, load/unload trucks; husk/shell/de-tassel corn;operate motor bike or all-terrain vehicle in the course of performingduties. Irrigation duties will include the following: Hand lines:connect pipes; check alignment of pipe and adjust for proper waterdistribution; attach lines to water supply; turn on pump; turn valves tostart flow of water; disassemble lines and carry pipes across fields atspecified intervals; move pipes through freshly irrigated crops and/orplowed fields where mud may be deep at times; lift and carry pipesections weighing approximately 40 pounds on a sustained basis. Wheellines: start gasoline engines and operate controls to move lines acrossfields at specified intervals. Pivots: push on switch that activatescircle sprinkler system; replace pivot gearbox, close/open pivot spraynozzles, service pivots. Flood Irrigation: lift gate in side of floodedirrigation ditch/pipe permitting water to flow into bordered section offield; shovel and pack dirt in low spots of embankment or cut trenchesin high areas to direct water flow; close gate in ditch/pipe whenbordered section is flooded; open gate or connect pipe to undergroundpipe system that releases water flow into reservoir or ditch; siphonwater from flooded reservoir or ditch to channel water into designatedareas; shovel or hoe soil to clear ditches/furrows and build embankmentsto appropriately channel water; mix and apply proper solutions to fillholes/cracks in pipes, ditches, and spillways, and make minor repairs tometal, concrete, and wooden frameworks in pipe and ditch valves andgates. Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes/wheel lines from storageand lay out/place in predetermined patterns in fields; lubricate,adjust, repair and replace parts such as sprinkler heads, and drivechains using hand tools; observe revolving sprinklers and adjust toensure proper operation and uniform distribution of water; install gatesand open/close gates on gated pipe; disassemble, service and storepipes/mainlines/wheel lines after irrigation season; drain mainlines. Tomeet minimum acceptable performance standards when irrigating, theworker must, after a 10 day conditioning period, move an average of atleast 48 40-foot sections of 3-inch pipe or 44 40-foot sections of4-inch pipe per hour under normal working conditions. Duties related tothe production of livestock will include the following: check physicalcharacteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply theappropriate care; apply or administer medications, vaccines and/orinsectic des; mix feed/additives and feed/water livestock; place mineralblocks; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water; herd livestock;clean/disinfect livestock corrals/stalls/sheds; dock, castrate, brand,clip/tag and clamp livestock; hoist/stack bales of hay onto wagon/truck.Duties related to the Cutting/Sorting of Seed Potatoes will include thefollowing: Will apply techniques as instructed by the employer to cutand sort potatoes by: tend/ monitor machine to insure proper movement ofproduct; discard diseased/rotting/inferior product and foreign matter;report malfunctions; general cleanup. Duties related to the Harvestingof Potatoes will include the following: Will apply techniques asinstructed by the employer to: remove rocks from rows in front ofharvesting equipment; discard diseased/rotting product, rocks andforeign matter; alert equipment operator of equipmentclogging/malfunctions; pile potatoes in storage; aid operator in correctmachine performance
