JOB PURPOSE: To integrate or improve manufacturing systems orrelated processes relative to Injection MoldProcessing/Production/Validation. Provide project, status feedback tomanagement team. Emphasis on Continuous Improvement driving positivechange throughout the manufacturing processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: -Perform Manufacturing Engineering projects as assigned - ExecuteLean/6-Sigma disciplines focusing on Continuous Improvement -Implementing creative ideas in the process of manufacturing andunderstanding the technicalities related with the products - Hands-onapproach on improving the manufacturing process by implementingengineering concepts and optimizing the production of the products -Support Validation Team in transitioning new programs to productionincluding manufacturing line, secondary operations and productionplanning - Configuring the products and providing manufacturingspecifications to the teams involved in documentation to help prepareguides and instructions - Reviewing the cost of the products byanalyzing the cost of raw material and overall production cost - Workingwith the manufacturing department and help them understand the technicalconcepts that should be looked after during the manufacturing process ofthe products - Working closely with the quality assurance team to makesure that the product is meeting the quality constraints as well -Identify and/or Lead Continuous Improvement/Lean Projects eitherindividually or with team - Gather information for capital equipmentneeds, create and budget for Return on Investment and/or positiveefficiency return - Participate in NCR/Continuous Improvement meetingsas required - Visit Customers to support manufacturing engineeringefforts as required - Support sales initiatives and programs asrequired - Interact positively with all Apex personnel - Ensure that allsafety procedures are followed. - Ensure that all equipment safeties arenot altered or defeated. - Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS(Education/Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Required: -Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent, or 5-7 years related experience and/ortraining, or equivalent combination of education and experience - Priorexperience in Lean Manufacturing Disciplines - Prior experience inInjection Mold Processing preferred - Ability to read, analyze, andinterpret Technical Drawings and technical information documents -Create technical documents for use in the Injection Molding, otherdepartments, and APEX Customers - Ability to write and professionallypresent technical information to small groups - Should be creative andshould possess ability to use modern technology in the manufacturingprocess - Familiar with the manufacturing process and concepts that arefollowed traditionally - Possess strong computer, mathematical, reading,writing skills - Ability to define problems, collect data, establishfacts and draw valid conclusions. - Ability to interpret an extensivevariety of technical information, electronic data, drawings and data inan efficient manner. - Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. - Must be ableto sit or stand for long periods of time. - Must be able to climb up anddown stairs. - Support cross functional teams and departments asrequired. - Perform job duties in accordance to ISO 13485/9001 includingISO audits. - Travel is required to support company initiatives.WORKING CONDITIONS: - Works under general supervision.
