About Farm Laborer

  Need 3 full time, temporary, seasonal Farm Laborer to work in Mahnomen, MN. From: 03/01/2024 to 12/31/2024 Work: Minimum 35 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 7 hrs./day; Possible 35-50 hours/week, 0-10 OT hours/week. 5 days/week (Monday- Friday), schedule varies and includes evenings and weekends. Saturdays may be required during harvest time, depending on weather. Overtime will be paid at the rate of time and a half for hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week. Must Apply By: 08/01/2024 NOTE: Due to systems rules, this job order will close before the recruitment period elapses on 08/01/2024, however a new job order will be created and posted for the remainder of the recruitment period. JOB DUTIES: Manually plant, cultivate and harvest fruits, nuts and field crops. Use hand tools, such as shovels', trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning shears and knives. Workers will use machinery, such as tractors, combines, tandem trucks, semi-trucks, etc. Duties may include tilling soil, and planting, fertilizing, and harvesting crops. May apply pesticides, cleaning, packing and loading harvested products. Repair fences, trellises, farm buildings, or participate in irrigation activities. Prepare and clean farm equipment, haul crops (corn and soybeans) from grain silo to elevators to sell as animal feed. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 3 months of agricultural experience; able to lift 100 lbs.; valid driver's license or able to obtain within 30 days of hire; able to perform work requiring exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing, pulling and repetitive movements; no minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
