JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire a FacilityTechnician. This is considered a Limited Term Employment position.Scheduled hours vary for each event, but may include: mornings,afternoons, evenings and weekends. An employee in this position isresponsible for a variety of tasks related to building maintenance andevent functions. Work is performed according to established guidelinesand reviewed by the Buildings Supervisor. Essential Job Functions:Complete the set-up and takedown of equipment from events and return thebuilding to its original condition before and after each event. Enforcerules of the Omni Center regarding the general public by ensuring safetyprotocols when on premises. Ability to recognize any problems withregards to the building, its contents, equipment, or supplies and reportany questionable changes to the supervisor or maintenance lead bywritten or verbal communication. Assist in the maintenance of the ice,which includes resurfacing, flooding, patching and edging as well as anyother duties deemed necessary. Assist in the maintenance of the buildingto maintain the best possible condition. Duties include, but are notlimited to, bathroom cleaning and restocking, floor care, windows, andcustodial cleaning, as well as outside maintenance. Performs openingprocedures for the building during events and properly securing thebuilding each night. Ensure customers or prospective customers needs arereasonably met during the course of an event to the best of your abilityor seek advice from the immediate supervisor. Ensure cleanliness andsafety of the building and surrounding grounds. Ability to maintain aprofessional demeanor and establish effective working relationships withthe general public, associates, volunteers, and staff; and have theability to calmly approach and solve problems under stressfulcircumstances; maintain and promote harmony in the workplace; ability toconcentrate for extended periods of time and be flexible. Contributes toa cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to performother job-related work as needed or requested. Assistance is given toothers and special projects to be completed as scheduled or requested.Physical Requirements: The work environment characteristics describedherein are representative of those an employee encounters whileperforming the essential functions of this job. To include, but notlimited to, push, pull and lift objects of varying weights and heightsup to (100) pounds. Standing/walking up to eight (8) hours per day.Ability to reach shoulder height and above to do overhead work. Frequentbending and twisting. Job Requirements: High School Diploma orequivalent. Must be 18 years old. Valid drivers\' license with gooddriving record. Must have good oral and written communication skills.Use equipment safely. Report to work on time and when scheduled. Workwith little supervision. Operate or learn to operate power equipmentsuch as, floor scrubber, forklift, platform lift, vacuum, sweeper, iceresurfacers, snow blower, and hand and power tools. Compensation: Wagerange for this seasonal, limited-term position is \$11.00 to \$14.00 perhour depending on qualifications. Flexible scheduling available.
