HIRING FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - 25-30HR
Job Description:
• Performs painting or staining of walls, floors, trim, doors, handrails, pipes, equipment, and other items.
• Performs carpentry work such as building wooden boxes, shipping crates, cabinets, bookshelves, storage shelves, or other items.
• Installs all types of doors; does some mill work on wood trim, and constructs partitions and walls.
• Performs some roof repairs or replacements.
• Performs concrete and masonry repair such as brick and mortar repair, grouting, concrete forming and finishing and curb and sidewalk repair.
• Installs and/or repairs steel vault lids.
• Installs and repairs acoustical ceilings, drop ceilings and floor tiling.
• Performs various types of window repairs, caulking, and glazing.
• Installs, moves, modifies, and repairs modular office systems.
• Insulates exposed pipes, installs mirrors, bulletin boards, metal buildings, and other maintenance work as assigned.
• Performs repairs on door closers, locksets, and other door hardware.
• Repairs various types of fencing and gates and other needed maintenance work to fence lines an instructed.
• Operates lawn irrigation systems by adjusting controllers and setting zone timers in accordance with weather conditions. Makes minor repairs to valves, heads, and piping as required.
Perform minor electrical work on irrigation systems as needed.• Performs routine safety inspections including eyewashes, safety showers, fire extinguishers and fire suppressant systems.
Additional Qualifications:
• Requires three years’ experience in structures maintenance or related field..
• Requires ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings and sketches.
• Requires the ability to work from installation and maintenance manuals.
• Must be well organized and able to work on a variety of assignments.
• Requires knowledge of building materials and hardware.
• Must follow instructions properly.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license .
• Must communicate well in English both orally and in writing.
• Must be aware of occupational hazards and be knowledgeable in the safe handling of hazardous chemicals.
• Must have the demonstrated ability to interact professionally with fellow employees, outside contractors, vendors, and the general public.
• Must have experience with or have the ability to learn and apply all applicable requirements pertaining to hazardous waste operations.
• Must be available for periodic emergency call-out.
• The ability to learn necessary functions in SAP required .
• Must pass post offer medical exam, including drug screen and background verification (may not apply to current employees).
